Celebrating Diwali, A Hindu Festival

Each student created a candle holder out of clay in preparation for the celebration.

We designed Rangoli, traditional Hindu paintings created with rice flour (we used rice flour and colored sand).

Cooking dal and chapatis was fun and delicious. Thanks to Mohan Srinivas, Shana's dad, for sharing his chapati making skills.

Putting henna designs (called Mehndi) on our hands was part of the festivities.
