Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of September 5, 2007
All Grades:
1. A Different Kind of Self Portrait
***Choose an animal or object that is important to you. From the teacher sample you can see that Elena chose a clarinet. Tammy’s will be shared in class.
***Draw your choice or make a collage. It should be fairly large (should fill most of an 81/2 by 11 inch piece of paper). Leave a blank spot for the photo of your head. We’ll begin in class, but you may need to complete it for homework.
***We’ll also begin poems to go with this “portrait”. You may need to finish this for homework as well.
DUE ON Friday, September 7, 2007.
2. Bring in your summer reading list and your summer writing assignment.

3. Bring in your summer Wordly Wise books.
