Homework for week of 12/10/07

Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of December 10, 2007
History

1. Read chapter 4 “What the Sumerians Believed and What They Knew”.
2. We will assign specific questions in class that you will do for homework.
Due second block this week.
3. Go to http://www.mesopotamia.co.uk/
Go to Geography and under that go to Story. Read the story of Gilgamesh.

Language Arts
Sixth Grade
1. Memoirs:
• The rest of your rough draft is due by Thursday, Dec. 13th at the latest.
• The final memoir is due Friday, Dec. 21st.
• Other elements needed:
• An attractive cover, with the title and your name. Note format:

Of course, you will space it out on the page.
• The title page needs the title, the author, your grade level, and the date.
• The dedication page needs a dedication only, but it still needs to look good.
• We’ll work on the author page in class on Tues and/or Thurs. If you have a photo you want to use, put it on your zip drive. If not, we’ll take a photo in class.

2. Read to page 148 in The Watsons Go to Birmingham by Thursday, Dec. 13th. A writing activity will be assigned in class.

Seventh Grade

Eighth Grade
1. Read to page 212 in To Kill a Mockingbird by Friday, Dec. 14th.
2. Each person will take an element of the novel to illustrate for a bulletin board. To be decided in class and due on Thursday, Dec. 13th.
3. Complete the vocabulary sections in your packet through chapter 21 by Friday, Dec. 14th.
