homework week of 4/21/08

Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of April 21, 2008


HISTORY
1. Time to get out the presidential primary maps/charts. The Pennsylvania primary is Tuesday, with more primaries to come on May 6, 13, 18, 20, 27th.

Due in second block this week. Note: if you’ve been using a chart without a map, it’s time to update the map. If you need another copy, ask Elena or Tammy. At this point all you need to put on the map are the initials for the state names and the numbers of delegates for Clinton and Obama.

2. 6th/7th graders: Keep reading your report sources and taking notes. Your outlines are due this Tuesday for 6th grade and this Wednesday for 7th grade. See below for more.

3. There will be a China geography quiz in 2nd block this week. Block I will be tested on Tuesday, April 28th. Your already completed China map is your study guide. We’ll go over specific details in class.

LANGUAGE ARTS
6th grade
1. Literary log due on Friday, April 25th. Specifics will be assigned in class.
2. Grammar to be assigned in class.

7th grade
1. Wordly Wise 10---due on Wednesday this week.
2. Test on Wordly Wise units 9 and 10 on Friday NEXT WEEK.

3, Bring all of your history report work to class on Wednesday, 4/24. We’ll review your class book essay plans on Wednesday and begin rough drafts in class. The completed rough draft is due on Friday, 4/25. The final essays will be due on Friday, 5/2.

8th grade
1. If you haven’t turned in the proposal for the visual component of your 8th grade project, get it in NOW! You should begin working on this project right away. Remember, it is worth 30% of your project grade.
2. The final section of your 8th grade project rough draft is due on Thursday, May 1st. Yes, it’s the day after the Science Fair and you’ve known about it for a month----no excuses.
3. Go the the humanities blog.(http://synergyhumanities.blogspot.com) Follow the directions for Twelfth Night.
Using Google images, you will search for and print an image of a specific character from Twelfth Night (to be assigned in class). Due on Thursday, 4/24
