Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of May 5, 2008

History
ALL GRADES:
1. Reading on the Maya will be handed out in class with questions. Due dates to be assigned in class.

6th/ Grade
1. The rough drafts of your history reports will be returned on Thursday. Anyone who has not turned the first draft in must do so by Friday, May 9th.
2. You will write up a proposal for the visual part of your report in class on Thursday.

7th Grade
1. Reports: The first 1/3 (2-3 pages) of your rough draft is due on Wednesday, May 7th. The rest of the rough draft is due the following Wednesday, May 14th.

2. We’ll work on the plan for the visual component of your report on Friday in class.

Language Arts
6th Grade
1. Work to be assigned in class.

7th Grade
1. Final class book essays are due on Friday, May 9th. We’ll work on them in class on Wednesday so be sure to bring your rough draft on your travel drive!

2. Grammar and punctuation work to be assigned in class.

3. Test on Wordly Wise units 9 and 10 will be on Friday, May 9th. Wordly Wise unit 11 is due on Friday, May 16th.

4. You will start a new book of your choice for the rest of the year. We’ll talk over this in class since you may choose to read a book as a small group.

8th Grade
1. Work on the visual part of your 8th grade project. You need to write down all that you have done and turn it in on Thursday, May 8th.

2. If you haven’t already done so, all the poetry you have written this year (and any you like from last year) must be word-processed and put in a folder on your computer and flash drive. Due Friday, May 9th.
