Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of Nov. 3, 2008

History
1. Complete the United States Election Map with final results. You may use
www.cnn.com, www.pbs.org or any other source that has election maps, such as the newspaper. You may use red and blue, or choose 2 other colors to show Democratic and Republican votes. Be sure to include a key.

2. Complete the chart on the back of this sheet.

Due in first block next week.

Language Arts
6th grade
1. Complete lessons A, B, and C in Wordly Wise unit 3. Due Thursday, Nov. 6th.

2. Reading and comprehension work for Freak the Mighty will be assigned on Tuesday.

7th grade
1. Write a literary log to an adult with whom you live. Choose one or more topics from the list of ideas in your notebook (note: don’t repeat a topic you already used this year). Turn it in WITH a response next Wednesday, Nov. 12th.

2. We will begin studying the Nazi Holocaust this week. Homework may be assigned.

3. Subject, verb, and object work will be assigned in class on Wed., and due the following week, Wed., Nov. 12th.

8th grade
1. Read through chapter 4 of TKAM by Thursday, Nov. 6th. Vocabulary homework will be assigned.

2. Write a literary log to an adult with whom you live. The topic is your experiences reading TKAM thus far. Turn it in WITH a response next Thursday, Nov. 13th.
