Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of February 17, 2009
History
1. Judaism reading and timeline work will be assigned in class and due in first block next week for Blocks II and III and on Friday for Block I.
2. Your final project on Judaism will be an illustrated history of Judaism. Samples will be shown in class and the specific details of the assignment explained.
Language Arts
6th Grade
1, Character writing assignment ---- due Thursday, Feb. 19th.
2. Complete A-D in Wordly Wise unit 7 ----due Thursday, Feb. 19th.
3. Go to the blog and “guess the writer”. Extra credit given if you write down the author’s name and 3 facts you’ve learned about him.
7th Grade
1. Wordly Wise unit 8----due Wed., Feb. 18th.
2. Character writing assignment due Wed., Feb. 18th. (see reverse for a sample).
3. Read “A Jury of Her Peers”----due Friday, Feb. 20th.
4. Go to the blog and “guess the writer”. Extra credit given if you write down the author’s name and 3 facts you’ve learned about him.
8th Grade
1. Eighth Grade Project-----6 hours worth of work is due this Friday, Feb. 20th.
2. Choose one of the following for your final Twelfth Night assignment:
• Create a poster advertising a production of Twelfth Night.
• Write a letter of reference to a prospective employer for one of the characters. Refer specifically to his/her qualifications, using examples from the play.
• Write a 3 or more paragraph essay on either which character you would most like to be or which character you would most like to meet. (Thanks, Zola, for the idea).
Whichever assignment you choose must be neatly done and proofread carefully as it will be displayed at school.
