Homework week of 12/7/09

Middle School Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of December 7, 2009


Humanities
1. Read John Brown article by 2nd block this week.
2. Complete the John Brown questions from your classmate.
3. Study 20 to 30 minutes per night for next week’s history test. Use the study guide, the map, AND re-read the chapters.

HISTORY TEST:
Blocks II and III---Monday, Dec. 14th/ Block I---Tuesday, Dec. 15th

Language Arts
6th Grade
1. The rough draft of your book review is due Thurs., Dec. 10th. Book review guidelines are on the reverse. Sample book reviews will be handed out in block classes early this week.
2. Wordly Wise unit 3 A, B, C is due this Thurs., Dec. 10th. The rest of the unit is due Tues., Dec. 15th.


7th Grade
1. Write the memory you shared with a partner in class on Friday. Be sure to use at least 3 of your senses in the writing to help make the writing come alive. Dialogue is also very helpful in bringing writing alive. Due Wed., Dec. 9th. If you prefer to write down a different memory, that is fine. Do this writing in your writing notebook. If you’ve lost your notebook, it is up to YOU to replace it.
2. Wordly Wise unit 4 is due next Wed., Dec. 16th.

8th Grade

2. “This I Believe” (Credo) essay rough drafts are due on Thursday, Dec. 10th.
3. More poetry will be assigned on Monday and due on Friday, Dec. 11th.
