Humanities and Language Arts Homework
Week of February 1, 2010
History
1. Read “Indian Removal” in your Trail of Tears packet and answer the attached questions. Due in second block this week (III—Wed., II---Thurs., I---Fri).
2. Complete the Crossword puzzle on the Judicial System. Due in second block this week.
3. A study guide for a test on Indian Removal and The Judicial System will be handed out in second block and due in first block next week (III and II on Mon., I on Tues.) The test will be in second block next week. (III—Wed., II---Thurs., I---Fri).
Language Arts
6th You will begin writing your memoir in class on Tuesday. The first third of it will be due on Thursday. Look at your story line to estimate what 1/3rd of it is. In class on Thursday, we will begin reading a book called Marching for Freedom about youth in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s. You will be assigned both reading and some writing about the book in class on Thursday.
7th
1. You will begin writing the introduction to your memoir in class on Wednesday. The first third of it is due on Friday, Feb. 5th.
Be sure to skip lines if you are writing by hand, or use size 12 font, double space, if using the computer. You must bring a thumb drive or use google docs (I’ll show you how in class).
2. Complete the grammar homework handed out in block classes. Due on Wed.
8th
1. Your homework after each class reading of Twelfth Night is to review the pages we have read, either by rereading the Shakespearean language version or the modern language version. It is up to you to keep track of the page numbers we have read.
2. A poetry writing assignment will be handed out on Monday and due Thursday, Feb. 4th.
3. Work 3 hours on your 8th grade project.
