History
1. Archaeology homework will be assigned in class.

Language Arts
All Grades:
1. Creation Myths----specific reading and writing will be assigned in class.
2. Remember: You are supposed to be reading a MINIMUM of 50 pages per week.
A book review about one of the books you’ve read this fall will be due on Thursday, Oct. 14th for 6th grade and Friday, Oct. 15th for 7th and 8th graders. Directions will be handed out after Farm School.

3. Write a literary log to an adult in your family. Write your letter by Wed. evening and give to an adult by Wed. evening. Your letter AND the response are due on Friday, Sept. 24th.
Your topics are below. You do not have to answer every question asked but do have to write thoroughly about these two subjects.
• What do you remember about being read to as a young child? What do you remember liking? What do you remember about learning to read and the first books you liked to read to yourself? What are some differences between what you liked as a young child and what you like now?
• What characters do you remember from your younger years? What makes a good character? Give specific examples.

8th grade only:
4. Your final essay on being an 8th grader is due on Friday, Sept. 24th. Remember to turn in your rough draft and planning sheet with the final.
