“Proof” by Julia Alvarez
• Write a poem about a fantasy you have had about a place you have seen only in pictures or movies.

“Deer in the Bush” by Chana Bloch

• “White Panther” by Gene Frumkin
• Write a poem about a myth, spirit, or creature you believed in when you were younger (think tooth fairy, unicorns, etc.). Try to convey how you felt when you discovered the myth wasn’t true.
