2. Make 2 copies of your farm school poem, with illustrations. Due Friday, Oct. 19th.
3. Unfortunately, the number of half days for conferences and the Friday off on October 26th means that we’ll need to begin To Kill a Mockingbird on October 29th, instead of this week. However, it gives us the perfect opportunity to explore one of the real-life issues that sparked the novel, The Scottsboro Case. We’ll begin discussing it in class today and you’ll have some reading for homework----due Oct. 19th. There will be an in-class activity, which you will be unable to do without having read the article before hand (hint, hint).
4. Write a lit letter in response to your partner’s letter. Include 1 paragraph about your reactions to the reading about The Scottsboro Case. Due Friday, October 19th.
If you are interested in reading more about this case, the following website has many links to primary documents of the trial.
